All We Can Save Book Club

Join us for a climate change themed fall book club to read All We Can Save: Truth, Courage, and Solutions for the Climate Crisis, a 2020 anthology of climate change essays edited by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katharine K. Wilkinson. Described as “provocative and illuminating writings from women at the forefront of the climate movement who are harnessing truth, courage, and solutions to lead humanity forward,” this book offers a very human look into climate change, how it impacts us, and why it really matters to us.

This book club will be designed more like a seminar than a casual drop-in book club. We will take a deep dive into all sorts of aspects of climate change. You can expect rich discussions on advocacy, science, racial and environmental justice, energy and so much more, all as they relate to climate change and the climate movement.

We will be picking selected readings from the book. As we move through the book’s several sections, we hope you will be informed, empowered, and ultimately inspired to become involved in climate solutions.

We’ll have four main sessions, each building on the previous readings and sessions. We’ll culminate in a final, more reflective session, in which we’ll also talk about some of the more practical ways we can each contribute to the climate movement.

Virtual. This time around, due to popular demand, we’re purposefully designing a virtual book club during the work day, and are hoping that this makes it feasible for those working in nature-based, environmental, and conservation-related fields to fold it into their work. **If you’re more interested in an in-person evening book club, stay tuned for winter 2025., when North Branch hopes to host another book club**

Dates: 4 main sessions with one bonus session, co-facilitated by Naomi and Emily, 12-1:30pm

October 1, 2024
October 15, 2024
