Join us on Vermont's Arbor Day (Friday May 6th) for a community tree planting!
We will be planting a diversity of native trees and shrubs by the stream in the area between South Hero Fire and Rescue and the new Two Heroes Brewery. This tree planting will create better habitat for wildlife, birds, and pollinators, as well as improve the water quality of the stream feeding into Keeler Bay.
Please park by Worthen Library and avoid the South Hero Volunteer Fire dept. parking area. If you have shovels, rakes, gloves, or buckets, feel free to bring them. If not, we will provide them.
This volunteer event will be a fun, hands-on way to enhance our local green space right before Green-Up Day, and to learn about the benefits of trees on water, air, and habitat quality. Come for as long as you would like. All are welcome, and snacks will be provided. Sincerest thanks to South Hero Congregational Church for helping to fund and support this tree planting. We hope to see you there!
