For the past two years, South Hero Land Trust has been working with Folsom students and community members to plant, water, weed, and maintain the garden. We've really enjoyed working in the garden, which has always been a place to provide students and community with hands-on garden education, as well as proving much-needed food to our neighbors.
We donate summer harvests to Food For Thought, and during the fall, students and volunteers harvest produce for the annual Folsom Spaghetti Dinner, and for the cafeteria at Folsom.
This year, we have started a bi-weekly garden work party on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, and we could use your help! We meet at Folsom School between 9 -10:30 AM to do various garden tasks, including weeding, watering, harvesting, and more! Our first Wednesday gathering is July 24. Followed by August 14, August 28, Sept 11, and Sept 25. All are welcome, no experience required.
We'll provide the tools, treats, plants and seeds. Please bring gloves and outdoor shoes.
RSVP and/or lean more via email to guy@shlt.org.
See you in the garden!
