Join us for a ramble through Tracy Woods to learn about and identify many of the common and uncommon trees of the Islands. This unique conserved woodland contains five distinct natural communities that we will explore. We will highlight trees of each natural community and give some tips on how to identify them yourself. The trails at Tracy Woods consist of approximately 1 mile of easy terrain; learn more about them here>>.
Nature rambles are collaborative - while SHLT staff and guest speakers will come prepared with a theme and a handful of neat things to check out along the trail, we respect and invite the knowledge that each of us bring to the table. The best rambles often feel more like a conversation than a lecture, because it’s always more fun when everyone gets a chance to be involved. So please, come as you are, bring your questions, bring your enthusiasm, and let’s go for a ramble!
When you RSVP, we will send you a reminder email before the event as well as updated info on weather, if necessary. Our events are held rain-or-shine, but we may decide to cancel if there are unsafe conditions in the forecast such as high winds, extreme temperatures, or other hazardous conditions.
This event is free and open to all. Email eileen@shlt.org with any questions.
Participants under age 16 should be accompanied by an adult. We also ask that you please leave pets at home. Please note that for all in-person events, if you are experiencing symptoms of illness, or are a close contact/exposed to COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, please do not attend. Thank you!
