The Bounty of Spring - A Nature Exploration

  • Landon Community Trail 110 Landon Rd South Hero, VT, 05486 United States (map)

Join SHLT and local nature-enthusiast Chuck Hulse as we walk the Landon Trail and search for signs of spring! Come learn all the many ways the local flora and fauna is waking up and changing with the seasons.

Optional: Bring a hand lens and a phone app (SEEK preferably). SHLT has spare hand lenses to anyone who wants to borrow one.

We will look at various life forms/stages of everything from slime molds, to mushrooms, lichens, plants, trees and animals.

This event will be very hands-on. We will stop at various places and getting to touch, look and experience what we find at both macro and micro (hand lens). More than just learning about nature, the goal for this event is to help participants learn techniques for exploring nature on their own. Expect to come away with new skills you can employ anytime to appreciate the world around us.
