Join us for a morning walk at Round Pond State Natural Area in South Hero and discover all the winged creatures that live there, from birds to butterflies to dragonflies and more! We'll be joined by expert naturalist Sean Beckett.

RSVPs are required for all 2021 SHLT events. Please RSVP Here. Please note there is a 12-person attendance limit for this event. Additional RSVP’s will be put on a waitlist and notified if/when spots open up.

Trail Conditions: This trail is about 1 mile from trailhead to the lake, with a couple of muddy spots. There is about 100 ft of steep-grade trail near the end, but there is a less-steep alternate trail if needed. The trail is mowed but there is tall grass and poison ivy along the trail in places. Boardwalks can be slippery when wet. Please email guy@shlt.org with questions about accessibility and/or trail conditions.

Other Considerations: Ticks may be present in the area. If you want to learn more about tick prevention, visit the VT Dept. of Health's 'Be Tick Smart' Website

Participants under age 16 should be accompanied by an adult. We ask that you please leave pets at home.

1. limiting the number of participants to allow for social distancing, and requiring RSVPs.

2. requiring masks for unvaccinated participants only

3. requesting than any person who is ill or has been exposed to COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the event not attend, and to notify us as soon as possible that you will not be attending.

Take your first left (at the triangle intersection) onto East Shore Road, go past Pigasus Meats, and the parking area will be immediately on your left by the orange gate.
