Walk the Watershed

  • Islandacres Farm 354 US Route 2 South Hero, VT (map)

Grand Isle County Conservation District & South Hero Land Trust invite you to walk our watershed!

Join us on July 7 (RSVP Here>>) to explore how water moves through and interacts with our different landscapes through a tour of Islandacres Farm - from the field to the bay! We’ll be joined by Steve Robinson, farmer and owner of Islandacres and Karen Bates, Master Naturalist and Basin Planner for the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation.

Steve will share a bit about the history and future of farming on the Islands and how he’s implemented efficient and effective practices in efforts to improve water quality. And as an expert in all thing’s water, Karen will be on hand to lift the curtain on the unique ecosystems of South Hero, while teaching us how to conserve our treasured natural resources. Throughout our walk, we’ll explore the small steps we can take on our individual landscapes to protect Keeler Bay and greater lake.

Bring mud-friendly shoes, water, and bug spray.

Please note that for all in-person events, if you are experiencing symptoms of illness, or are a close contact/exposed to COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, please do not attend
