Neon green, midnight blue, charcoal gray, flame orange, deepest red, canary yellow, snow white, lime, baby blue – Vermont’s warblers fill every spring and early summer with extraordinary color and excitement, but they're small and they never stop moving so they're not always seen. The class, taught by birding expert Maeve Kim, will help participants know where to look and what to look for as we learn to identify warblers. This event is being put on by our friends at Island Arts, with the classroom portion at the SHLT office.
Every year scores of beautiful birds, including many warblers, find Burton Island after spending the winter in warmer climates. By May the island is overflowing with nesting warblers, catbirds, robins, waxwings, and many other birds. Maeve Kim will lead us as we walk on a few of the several lovely, flat walking paths to see birds.
